Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 July 2026
Welcome to Tabooth. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tabooth website, applications, and services (together, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. What Tabooth is
Tabooth is a marketplace that connects tattoo studios, tattoo artists, apprentices, and clients. Through the Platform, studios can list booths for rent, artists can book booths and offer mentorship or tattoo sessions, clients can book sessions with artists, and users can arrange events such as conventions, guest spots, workshops, and private or corporate events. Tabooth is a platform provider only. We are not a tattoo studio, we do not employ artists, and we are not a party to any booking, rental, mentorship, event, or tattoo service arranged through the Platform.
Tabooth does not verify the identity, qualifications, licensing, insurance, experience, portfolio accuracy, or legality of users unless expressly stated. Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into any transaction with another user.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
3. Artists and studios
If you offer services through the Platform (as an artist, mentor, or studio), you are solely responsible for:
- Holding all licences, registrations, and insurance required by law in your location to perform or host tattoo work.
- Complying with all applicable health, safety, hygiene, and bloodborne-pathogen regulations.
- The accuracy of your listings, availability, pricing, and portfolio content.
- The quality and safety of the services you provide.
4. Bookings and payments
- Payments on the Platform are processed by our third-party payment provider (Stripe). By making or receiving payments you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms.
- Tabooth facilitates the collection and disbursement of payments between users through Stripe. Funds are held with our payment provider until released in accordance with the booking lifecycle (for example, on check-in or completion). Tabooth does not hold customer funds except as facilitated through our payment provider, and Tabooth is not itself the provider of the booked services.
- Tabooth may charge service or platform fees, which will be shown before you confirm a booking. We may change our fees from time to time; updated fees will apply only to future bookings after notice is provided.
- Refunds and cancellations are governed by the cancellation policy selected by the artist or studio at the time of booking, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
- Bookings are agreements between the participating users, not with Tabooth.
5. Mentorship and events
- Mentorship sessions arranged through the Platform are educational only. They do not create an employment relationship, a formal or registered apprenticeship under applicable law, or any certification or qualification.
- Event listings (including conventions, guest spots, workshops, and private or corporate events) are offered and organised by users. The organising user is solely responsible for the event, including permits, venue safety, insurance, and compliance with applicable law.
6. Content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of the content you upload (such as portfolio images and listing photos). By uploading content you grant Tabooth a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and reproduce that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform. You must only upload content you have the right to share.
We may remove or disable access to content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or applicable law.
Except for user content, all intellectual property rights in the Platform โ including software, branding, logos, graphics, and design โ belong to Tabooth or its licensors.
7. Reviews
Users may leave reviews based only on genuine experiences. Reviews must be accurate, lawful, and respectful. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms.
8. Prohibited conduct and fraud
- Circumventing the Platform to avoid fees for bookings initiated through Tabooth.
- Posting false, misleading, or infringing content.
- Harassing, discriminating against, or endangering other users.
- Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or interfering with its operation or security.
We may investigate suspected fraud, payment abuse, identity theft, chargeback abuse, or other misuse of the Platform, and may suspend accounts or withhold payouts while an investigation is ongoing.
9. Health and safety disclaimer
Tattooing carries inherent risks. Tabooth does not verify the medical suitability of any procedure and does not provide medical advice. Clients are responsible for discussing allergies, medications, medical conditions, skin disorders, risk of infection, and any other relevant health information with their chosen artist, and for following aftercare guidance. If you have any concerns, consult a medical professional before getting tattooed.
10. Availability of the Platform
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Platform and may suspend or modify services for maintenance or operational reasons.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tabooth is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss or damage arising from services provided or events organised by users of the Platform, including tattoo work, booth rentals, mentorship, conventions, guest spots, workshops, and other events. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tabooth, its directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or put other users at risk. You may close your account at any time; obligations arising from bookings made before closure survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will be communicated through the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
15. General
- Force majeure. Tabooth shall not be liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Entire agreement. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Tabooth regarding use of the Platform.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- Assignment. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
